To catch an over-aggressive baserunner with too big of a secondary lead.
PITCHER
Gets the sign from the catcher and then delivers a chest high fast ball on
the outside part of the plate.
CATCHER
Makes sure the pitcher knows the play is on and wants a chest high fast
ball away.
SECOND BASEMAN
When the hitter turns to bunt, you must cheat a few steps towards first
base in order to get behind the runner for the pick-off play at first base.
The play will happen very quickly as the catcher will not hesitate to throw
to first base.
SHORTSTOP
Holds position and prepares for a rundown.
THIRD BASEMAN
Execute a normal bunt play situation.
FIRST BASEMAN
Execute a normal charge play so the runner will get more of a secondary
lead/break early.
PITCHER:
Covers home plate.
CATCHER:
Retrieves the ball.
FIRST BASEMAN:
Backs up the plate.
SECOND BASEMAN:
Covers second base.
SHORTSTOP:
Backs up behind the mound.
THIRD BASEMAN:
Cover third.
ALL OUTFIELDERS:
Move toward the infield area to help where needed.
