SITUATION

OBJECTIVES

Minimize base advancement and possible runs scored.

PITCHER:

Goes half-way between home and 3rd and then backs up the base where the throw is going.

CATCHER:

Covers home plate.

FIRST BASEMAN:

Moves behind the mound in line with the throw; is the cut-off man. If throw goes to third, hustle back to first to cover the bag.

SECOND BASEMAN:

Covers second base.

SHORTSTOP:

Is the cut-off man for a possible throw to third base.

THIRD BASEMAN:

Covers third base.

LEFT FIELDER:

Backs up the center fielder.

RIGHT FIELDER:

Backs up the center fielder.
