SITUATION

  • Double , Possible Triple, to Right Center Field - No Runners, or Runner on Third, or Runners on Second and Third

OBJECTIVES

  • Minimize base advancement and possible runs scored.


PITCHER:

Backs up third base; get as deep as possible.

CATCHER:

Protects home plate.

FIRST BASEMAN:

Trails the runner to second base; covers the bag, is ready for a play at that base.

SECOND BASEMAN:

Goes to the spot in center field (in line with third) to become the relay man.

SHORTSTOP:

Trails about 30 feet behind second baseman, in line with third base.

THIRD BASEMAN:

Covers third base.

LEFT FIELDER:

Moves in toward third base.

RIGHT FIELDER:

Backs up the center fielder.
